Dr. O’Dae Kwon is a distinguished researcher in photonics and nanotechnology, recognized for pioneering studies on Photonic Quantum Ring (PQR) and 3D Whispering Gallery/Cave Mode Lasers since 1997. His research contributions exceed 30 international publications and over 100 overseas conference presentations, advancing the understanding of photonic quantum structures and their bio-photonic applications. He has authored and edited several significant book chapters, including Trends in Nano- and Micro-Cavities (Bentham Science) and Advances in Optical and Photonic Devices (INTECH). His inventions have led to multiple U.S. and Korean patents, including the U.S. Patent No. 5,561,683 on Circular Grating Surface Emitting Laser Diodes. Dr. Kwon’s excellence has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the COOC Best Paper Award , 13th Scientist of the Year, Korea Patent Competition Gold Medal, Korean Science Foundation Best Research Prize  and the IEEE NMDC Best Oral Paper Prize. He continues to contribute to cutting-edge developments in bio-photonics, quantum optical devices, and angular spectroscopy, with invited talks at leading international conferences including IEEE Photonics  and AAAFM-UCLA .

Dr. Lucien Mandeng Mandeng is a senior lecturer at U.Y.I/N.A.S.E.Y with over 15 years of teaching and research experience in Physics, Chemistry, and Optical Sciences. He has supervised six master’s theses and supported three doctoral students in advanced topics such as Airy pulses, supercontinuum generation, and nonlinear optical waveguides. His strong academic contributions include 17 peer-reviewed journal publications and 10 international conference papers, particularly in optics, photonics, and nonlinear wave dynamics. He has actively participated in numerous international conferences and ICTP training schools, enhancing his global academic visibility. His achievements are recognized with multiple awards, including the OSA Foundation Oral Presentation Award (2018) and several OPTICA/OSA travel grants. Beyond research, he has shown leadership as the Founder and Advisor of the NASEY OPTICA Chapter, organizing scientific training programs. His memberships in global scientific societies, along with his technical skills in MATLAB, MAPLE, and programming, strengthen his academic impact. With a solid publication record, international recognition, and ongoing collaborations, Dr. Mandeng demonstrates strong potential for future research leadership in nonlinear optics, photonics, and advanced laser systems.
