A major theme of her work involves the fabrication and surface modification of Fe-based metallic glasses, high-entropy alloys, and Fe–Si systems for environmental and energy-related applications. She has made significant contributions to the development of additively manufactured catalysts for wastewater remediation, enabling efficient degradation of azo dyes and organic pollutants through innovative micro/nano-structural engineering. In parallel, Dr. Zhang has conducted pioneering research on lunar soil simulants and regolith-based materials, exploring spark plasma sintering and microwave processing routes to support future space construction and extraterrestrial infrastructure.
